First GV Gold Class experience.

We met Shannan about two years ago when we had just started looking for a new house. He was marketing a house that we really liked and made an offer for, but the deal fell through. Shannan carried on the house hunt for us over the next few months, and even though we ultimately ended up buying a house through another agent, we were very grateful to him for helping us look for something that would fit our needs. We’ve kept in touch on and off since then and he and K have gone riding together. Shannan’s been very sweet about remembering birthdays – he showed up on mine with a gigantic bouquet of lilies. For K’s recent birthday, he bought a pair of GV Gold Class tickets to watch Conan.

This was the first time K and I had ever watched a movie outside of the usual cattle class theatre, so it was a very pleasant experience. We were ushered to a table to look at the menu and our orders were taken in a very concierge-y way. We had no idea what to order, so we plumped for the set meals, which K said surprised the waitress because apparently, no one ever orders the sets. We found out why a little later – the portions are huge! I couldn’t take photos of the food because the movie had begun by the time the courses arrived, but we had really generous helpings of spring rolls and some chicken ball thing which was super yummy. The main courses were a fish korma with rice for me, and a burger for K. All very nice.

There was a little hiccup – our desserts were delayed, so the waitress asked if we would like to have them outside in the lounge after the show instead. To make up for it, they offered us free coffee and tea. The desserts were pretty good, and like the other courses, the portions were so large that K and I could not finish.
