Hong Kong, Day 1.

K and I didn’t set out to make our weekend jaunt to Hong Kong a foodie one, since we’re eat-to-live people. But although we’ve been to Hong Kong several times before and seen many of its sights, eating was mostly opportunistic. This time, I asked around for food recommendations and we made it a point to try a few places that friends had rated highly. When we were not eating, we were walking around shopping – okay, I was walking around shopping while K insisted on playing a mule to my bags. I have no photos of myself burning a hole in my pocket but I do have pictures of grub. Here’s what we did ate on Day 1.

Strawberry tart at Agnes B

We were dead tired after our early morning flight and lugging our suitcases on the MTR to our hotel, so we hit the first eatery we saw at Times Square, which happened to be the Agnes B cafe.

At Tsui Wah in Central, after I’d paid a visit to my favourite cut-label store in Pedder Building. K is trying to look like his cup of milk tea.

I threw caution about my lactose intolerance to the wind and indulged in a large glass of Horlicks. I paid dearly for this later!

I’ve forgotten the actual name of this dish but it’s basically shan mee (crispy noodles) and prawns in spicy sauce. It was very, very yummy.
