A flat in the CTE tunnel.
K is one of those drivers who will insist on driving on empty, making me worry about whether the car will run out of gas in between turn-offs on the expressway and leave us stranded in the emergency lane. Turns out, I should have been worrying about his penchant for driving the car into rough areas and subjecting the tyres to abuse instead.
Yesterday, we were in the Central Expressway tunnel when the rear left tyre went flat. I’m not sure if it’s because there were nails embedded in the tyre, or if K drove over something sharp in the tunnel – I think it’s likely to be nails. At any rate, we ended up going bumpety-bump all the way to the petrol station at the next turn-off, by which time the tyre had sustained too much damage to be repaired.
New tyres were definitely not on our grocery list yesterday!

hmmm… he could have waited there for EMAS to appear. Then they may and can help him change the puntured tired. Ouch… it must have hurt ur pockets. Oh, I cano understand the part of driving to almost empty. I totally am nervous when I see the petrol signal lights up and my dearest will just shrug it off and insists that it is enough to bring us to our destination and back home again!!!
It’s not safe to stop in the tunnel (and anyway you’re not supposed to do that), that’s why we drove on to the nearest turn-off and petrol station.

We men base our actions on reliable data. Most of the time.
We woke up one morning to a flat tire. In addition to the cost, the hassle of it all is annoying. Glad you guys managed to get to a petrol station!
You know, dh tried to run out his petrol on the last day he had his old car, thinking there might be “just enough”. As luck would have it, the petrol ran out just across the road from the carpark while we were on the way to work that morning. So, he had to go walk to the petrol station to buy petrol or the poor car would be stranded along Robinson road. LOL.
that is the thing… the civic has clocked a nice 43 km and it is all lighted up
Mr Kenny Tan’s mind work kind of different though…
quite true …
